Nine Lives Foundation
To celebrate Spay/Neuter Awareness Month, in February we’re offering 20% off already low-cost spay/neuter services plus a free microchip for your cat.
At Nine Lives Foundation, a 501(c)3 cat adoption center and low-cost cat clinic in Redwood City, we see thousands of homeless and at-risk cats and kittens come through our shelter each year. In 2024, we rescued 988 cats and kittens – more than ever before – thanks to a never-ending Kitten Season that lasted from early spring through year-end.
Historically a spring/summer event, Kitten Season has become overwhelming to area shelters due to changing weather patterns that are leading to continuous mating among cats. That’s why celebrating February ‘Spay/Neuter Awareness Month’ is more important than ever.
The only way to prevent the senseless displacement and unnecessary death of kittens is by taking action – spaying and neutering cats. More than 85% of kittens born on the street don’t survive their first year. Together, we can change that heartbreaking statistic by taking action today.
More than ever before, it’s crucial to get your cats spayed and neutered. And now is the time – Kitten Season is rapidly approaching. Nine Lives offers low-cost spay and neuter services, making this affordable for all families with cats. The optimal time for the surgery is before a kitten is five months old, but it’s never too late.
Spaying or neutering your pet offers countless benefits:
- Improved Health: Reduces the risk of cancers and infections in both males and females.
- Better Behavior: Decreases roaming, marking, and aggressive tendencies.
- Fewer Homeless Cats: Prevents unwanted litters and helps control overpopulation.
- Longer Lifespan: Studies show spayed/neutered cats live healthier, longer lives!
We provide best-in-class care at affordable prices, ensuring money is never a barrier to protecting your furry friends with our exceptionally talented surgeons. Let’s work together to keep our community’s cats healthy and prevent the flood of unwanted kittens that overwhelms shelters every year.
