As part of National Small Business Week celebrations, the City of San José will hold the Fifth Annual Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summit on May 6 with workshops and panel discussions to help startups and established companies grow and thrive in San José. Sessions will be offered from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the San José City Hall Rotunda, 200 East Santa Clara Street in English with simultaneous translation in Spanish and Vietnamese.
The event will be kicked off by City of San José Mayor Sam Liccardo and Santa Clara County Board President Dave Cortese who will be joined by Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator from the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Organized by the BusinessOwnerSpace.com program, the Summit’s local sponsors include Wells Fargo, El Observador, and work2future. Their representatives, along with more than 20 local and national organizations, including SCORE, SBDC, AnewAmerica, and the US Patent and Trademark Office, will be present to help participants. National event sponsors include Chase, Intuit, Microsoft and others.
Leading industry experts will offer workshops and insight on accessing capital, leveraging technology and social media, and tracking and supporting business growth. Other sessions focus on getting feedback regarding potential modernization to the business tax at the City of San José, and establishing mentor/mentee relationships for business owners.
