Major Employers

are seeking to increase Diversity within their Workforce – especially for Hispanics

Neal Morrison City Career Fair/Diversity Recruiters Network

The fastest growing segment of the US population are Hispanic or Latino.  According to US Census the Hispanic/Latino population grew from 12.5  (35.3 million) to over 16 percent (50.4 Million) of the US Population between 2000 and 2010. This is the fastest growing segment of the population and consumer base. However, they are also the most underrepresented in leadership, management and face of the company contact points with the general public.  Because of these two strategic points, employers are aggressively seeking to increase their diversity especially for Hispanics and Latinos.  Employers are realizing that if they don’t start building a diverse workforce today they will be at a distinct business disadvantage in the near future.

There are employers in the San Jose/Silicon Valley that realize this as an opportunity to build a more inclusive workforce that reflects all the communities they serve.  Accordingly, the benefits in the short and long term are enormous for the employer, employees, local community and US economy.  This includes more consumer spending, tax revenues, greater market share and sales for employers with a diverse workforce.  It’s a win-win-win situation.
